This Program Advisory describes recent updates to the Certification of Ethics Agreement Compliance (Certification) required to be filed with the OGE by Presidential appointees following their confirmation by the Senate. The updates were necessary to clarify the deadlines for timely compliance, include an additional certification option related to divestitures that do not require the filing of a periodic transaction report, revise one of the recusals for spousal interests, and include a minor change to the Privacy Act Statement to address the recodification of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, as amended (EIGA).
